Oscar Wilde Theatre Show, Trinity College Dublin

Thursday, 18 June 2026 - Saturday, 25 July 2026
About this event
‘Every great man nowadays has his disciples, and it is always Judas who writes the biography.’
Oscar Unwritten is a play that explores Wilde’s life through Robbie Ross’s impossible question: should Oscar’s full story ever be told? Figures from Wilde’s world - Bosie, Constance, and Carson - appear alongside the characters that made him famous. Together they portray the triumph, scandal, brilliance and tragedy of Wilde’s life, tracing his journey from dazzling celebrity to devastating downfall.
Through this shifting world of memory, art and accusation, Oscar Unwritten pieces together a portrait of one of the 19th century’s most brilliant and contradictory literary figures.
